Schloss Birstein stands in Birstein (Main-Kinzig-Kreis), in Hesse, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Birstein stands on a narrow ridge in Birstein, in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis district of Hesse, and has served as the residence of the princely family of Isenburg since 1517. The complex is arranged around three successive courtyards, the result of a medieval stronghold expanded between the 12th and 18th centuries. The Neues Schloss, built from 1763 to 1768, links the outer courtyard to the medieval core and incorporates the old keep at its rear. Around the coach yard stand 16th-century Renaissance buildings whose roofs were later remodelled in Baroque style.
