The Jagdschloss Kranichstein stands in Darmstadt, in the state of Hesse, on hunting grounds laid out by the Landgraves of Hesse-Darmstadt in the 16th century. The lodge, together with its former armoury building (the Zeughaus), now houses a museum devoted to court life and hunting traditions, alongside a nature exhibition called bioversum. Visitors reach the site on foot through a wooded park with ponds, starting from a free car park.
