Schloss Puchhof lies in Aholfing, in the Landkreis Straubing-Bogen, in Bavaria. Its history goes back to the twelfth century, when the estate passed from the burgrave of Regensburg to Prüfening Abbey, which held it for nearly seven hundred years. Destroyed and rebuilt several times, notably after the devastation of the Thirty Years' War, the estate took its present form in the nineteenth century, when the Lang family had the Neues Schloss built and laid out the park.
