Burg Siegenstein stands on a granite hilltop above the village bearing its name, in the municipality of Wald. Little remains of this medieval stronghold beyond a single stretch of wall several metres high, a fragment of a 13th century fortified structure that once overlooked the valley. The castle chapel, by contrast, has survived largely intact and can still be seen at the foot of the ruin, though only from the outside. The site sits within a landscape of granite boulders and wooded trails well suited to walking.
