The Burgruine Heilsberg is a hilltop castle ruin standing at 420 metres above sea level, southeast of the hamlet of Pangerlhof within the municipality of Wiesent in Bavaria. Built around the middle of the 12th century, it once supported the settlement and clearing of woodland north of the Danube that belonged to the diocese of Regensburg. It is a quiet site, visited more for its woodland setting than for any visitor facilities.

  • No official opening hours, fees or visit duration are published, access is generally free along the forest paths.
  • Sturdy footwear is advisable given the wooded and sometimes uneven terrain.
