To make a day of it
Schloss Philippsburg (Braubach) stands in Braubach (Rhein-Lahn-Kreis), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
On the right bank of the Rhine, at the foot of the town of Braubach, Schloss Philippsburg retains little of its original sixteenth-century fabric: only a stair tower and two gatehouses with half-timbered gables survive. Seen together with the nearby Marksburg, the site nonetheless illustrates clearly the historical shift from medieval hilltop strongholds to early modern residences built in the valley. The inner courtyard is freely open to visitors, and the adjoining Renaissance garden forms part of the route of World Heritage gardens.
