To make a day of it
Ehrenburg stands in Brodenbach (Landkreis Mayen-Koblenz), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Ehrenburg rises above the Ehrbach valley on a rocky spur near Brodenbach, in Rhineland-Palatinate. Founded in the early 12th century as a small Hohenstaufen stronghold, it became the fortified centre of an imperial barony before being partly destroyed by the troops of Louis XIV in 1689. Its ruins, restored since the 1990s by a private association, still show the gate tower, the outer bailey and a long enclosing wall.
