To make a day of it
Burg Nassau stands in Nassau (Rhein-Lahn-Kreis), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Nassau Castle stands on a rocky outcrop above the town of Nassau and the Lahn valley in Rhineland-Palatinate. Built before 1128 by the counts of Laurenburg, it gave its name to the House of Nassau, whose descendants still sit on the royal thrones of the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The castle fell into ruin from the early sixteenth century onward, though its hall building and keep were later restored. A permanent exhibition inside the keep tells the story of the fortress and its founders.
