Schloss Neuhaus stands alone on a spur of the Kraichgau hills, near the village of Ehrstädt, a district of Sinsheim. An earlier building on the site is first recorded in 1333, but the present two-winged, three-storey structure was built around 1596-1597 by the von Degenfeld family on the site of the older Burg. It features a round stair turret set in the angle between the two wings, two square corner towers, and a decorative oriel on the east facade. Below the plateau stands the castle chapel, dating from 1602, which contains the tomb of Johann Christoph I von Degenfeld.
