To make a day of it

Schloss Neu Barenaue stands in Bramsche (Landkreis Osnabrück), in Lower Saxony, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Schloss Neu Barenaue stands in Bramsche, at the foot of the Kalkrieser Berg, in the Landkreis Osnabrück. The von Bar family had it built between 1857 and 1862, replacing their earlier seat, the Wasserburg Alt Barenaue, now separated from the site by the Mittellandkanal. The Hanoverian architect Hermann Hunaeus gave it the character of an English-style country house with neo-Romanesque touches. The building is tied to local history through a collection of Roman coins found nearby, which once pointed researchers toward the site of the Varus battle before the collection was lost in 1945.
