To make a day of it
Schloss Hexenagger stands in Altmannstein (Landkreis Eichstätt), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.
Schloss Hexenagger stands on a rocky spur above the village of the same name, in the Schambach valley, a tributary of the Altmühl. The site goes back to the lords of Hexenagger, documented from the Middle Ages, but the building seen today dates from the reconstruction carried out between 1625 and 1629 after the earlier stronghold was destroyed during the Thirty Years' War. Having passed through several noble families, including the Muggenthaler and later the counts of Kaiserstein, the castle retains a Baroque chapel from that seventeenth century rebuilding.
