To make a day of it
Schloss Haag stands in Geldern (Kreis Kleve), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.
North of Geldern, Schloss Haag preserves the remains of a once heavily fortified late medieval residence, reduced today to its outer bailey and forecourt. The main manor house, remodeled in baroque and later neo-gothic style, was destroyed in an Allied bombing raid in 1945 and was never rebuilt. What remains includes round corner towers, a gabled portal, and pointed arcades that once formed part of the old defensive walkway. The estate has belonged to the von Hoensbroech family since the early seventeenth century.
