To make a day of it

Schloss Gereuth stands in Untermerzbach (Landkreis Haßberge), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Schloss Gereuth stands in Untermerzbach, Bavaria, at the centre of the hamlet that bears its name. Built from 1705 for the Würzburg prince-bishop Johann Philipp von Greiffenclau-Vollraths, it forms a coherent baroque ensemble together with the neighbouring parish church, built in the same years. The layout shows three wings around an honour courtyard, closed off by a wrought-iron gate and a stone portal bearing a coat of arms, with four octagonal, dome-topped pavilions at the corners of the grounds that were once surrounded by a moat.
