The Rheindorfer Burg stands at the western edge of the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis, within the Walberberg district of Bornheim. First documented in 1140 as the seat of a knight in service to Count Adolf von Saffenberg, it still holds a tower core dating from the 11th or 12th century. The complex was substantially reworked over the centuries, most notably when the Dominican order settled there in the 20th century and gutted the interior behind the old walls to house a monastery and a large library. Today the site is run as a private estate combining a hotel and event spaces, and its former chapel is used for civil weddings.
