To make a day of it
Lingnerschloss stands in Stadtbezirk Loschwitz (Dresden), in Saxony, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Lingnerschloss stands at the geographic center of Dresden's three Elbe palaces, perched above the river valley. Built in the mid nineteenth century for the Prussian royal family as the Villa Stockhausen, it took its present name from the entrepreneur and philanthropist Karl August Lingner, who reshaped the estate in the early twentieth century, adding a private funicular and a mausoleum designed by Hans Poelzig. Its terrace commands a wide view over the Elbe valley, and the former dining room still displays a wall frieze copying Luca della Robbia's reliefs from Florence.
