The Jagdschloss Fröhliche Wiederkunft stands on an island in a small pond at the centre of Trockenborn-Wolfersdorf. Built between 1548 and 1550 by architect Nikolaus Gromann for Elector John Frederick the Magnanimous, this half-timbered hunting lodge largely retains its original structure. Its name, meaning 'joyful return', recalls the prince's reunion with his family in 1552 after his captivity. The building was reworked in neo-Gothic style during the 19th century and later fell into decline before restoration work began in 2007.
