Rabenstein Castle stands on a rocky outcrop in the Rabenstein district of Chemnitz and is considered the smallest medieval castle in Saxony. Probably founded in the 12th century by Hugo von Wartha, it suffered fire damage and repeated rebuilding before being reduced to today's upper bailey, marked by its round tower with a baroque dome. Visitors can still see the keep and remains of the upper enclosure atop a fifteen-metre slate rock.
