Burg Mömbris, now vanished, stands at Mömbris in the Landkreis Aschaffenburg, Bavaria. All that remains of this medieval stronghold is a raised plateau, the Burgstall, lying just below the old village cemetery. Built by the Counts of Rieneck before 1300, it was destroyed in 1405 on the order of King Ruprecht, later rebuilt, and finally abandoned to ruin by the end of the 18th century. Excavations carried out in 2019 uncovered its foundations and several building phases, though no standing walls can be seen today.
