Burg Möckmühl, also known as Götzenburg, stands on a narrow rocky ridge above the town of Möckmühl, at the point where the Seckach flows into the Jagst. Built as a pentagon during the High Middle Ages, it owes much of its fame to the knight Götz von Berlichingen, who defended it in 1519 and was taken prisoner there. Its oldest surviving feature is the round keep, called the Götzenturm, whose Romanesque entrance sits thirteen metres above ground. The castle remains privately owned and is not open to the public inside.
