To make a day of it
Burg Camburg stands in Dornburg-Camburg (Saale-Holzland-Kreis), in Thuringia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Burg Camburg is a ruined hilltop castle overlooking the Saale river, in the municipality of Dornburg-Camburg in Thuringia. Its most visible remnant is the keep, which survived the near-total destruction of the fortress in the fifteenth century. Held from the twelfth century by margraves of the House of Wettin, the site witnessed sieges and family disputes before falling into decay. Visitors today encounter a medieval ruin set above the valley rather than a restored castle.
