Burg Burg-Gemünden stands in Gemünden (Felda) (Vogelsbergkreis), in Hesse, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.
The Burg Burg-Gemünden sits on a 241-metre basalt outcrop above the Ohm valley, in the Burg-Gemünden district that takes its name from it, in Hesse. First built in the thirteenth century on land belonging to Fulda Abbey, it was torn down and rebuilt from 1274 for the daughter of the Landgrave of Hesse and her husband, a count of Ziegenhain. Today it shows a layered structure, with the late Gothic roof timbers of the hall standing alongside the Baroque alterations commissioned in the eighteenth century by Landgrave Ludwig VIII of Hesse-Darmstadt, whose thick walls were fitted with larger windows and deep seat niches. The old enclosure walls and the division between outer and inner bailey are still visible on site.
