The Altenburg was an early medieval fortification, now vanished, in the Altenburg district of Reutlingen. First mentioned indirectly in 914 as the site of a judicial assembly held by King Conrad I, it was torn down in 1070 while belonging to Count Werner of Achalm. Nothing of the structure remains above ground today: the site, excavated in 1896, now serves as a parish cemetery. It once stood on a terrace 32 metres above the Neckar, guarding a river crossing along an old imperial road.
