What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château élevé sur les plans de Dufart, élève et collaborateur de Louis, pour le banquier portugais Samuel Charles Peixoto, entre 1788 et 1790. C'est l'exemple type des grandes demeures néo-palladiennes édifiées dans la périphérie pour la grande bourgeoisie de l'époque. Le grand salon circulaire donne sur le parc par trois portes-fenêtres. La coupole portait une vaste composition picturale empruntant à l'agriculture, au commerce, à la navigation... qui peut être attribuable au peintre Antonio Gonzalez. Certains éléments témoignent d'une restauration au Second Empire.
