What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château, attesté dès le 15ème siècle, forme un domaine constitué de deux ensembles séparés par un portail. Au 17ème siècle, des canaux et des digues sont aménagés, facilitant ainsi l'acheminement de la production viticole du château jusqu'au port. La distribution du domaine se présente comme suit, avec, à l'avant, les logements des ouvriers et les communs autour d'une cour, puis, à l'arrière, le château, de plan rectangulaire, et le cuvier, séparés par un espace planté. Le parc s'insère au sein d'un réseau quadrillé de chenaux, tracé au 17ème siècle et toujours présent. La composition paysagère, réalisée en 1852, intègre un parcours d'eau romantique.
