Ce château remonte au 14ème siècle et forme un ensemble fortifié bien qu'il reste peu d'éléments des premières mentions médiévales du site. Un pont de quatre arches enjambe un fossé et donne accès à une porte cochère. Il fut construit en 1784 sous la direction de l'architecte Saintais Etienne Massioux. Des bastions ainsi que la présence de bouches à feu complètent cet ensemble fortifié. Le domaine a connu quelques aménagements au 19ème siècle (tour ronde, construction des chais) alors que l'aile orientale remonte pour l'essentiel au 17ème siècle. Une cour située près du château rassemble une bergerie et des hangars. A l'est du verger se trouve un pigeonnier et l'on peut également relever la présence d'une distillerie en relation avec des vignes ainsi qu'une maison reliée au système défensif avancé du château.
