What the French Ministry of Culture records

Ce château aurait été bâti en 1730 par le chevalier d'Aubeterre, seigneur de Gémozac. L'édifice de plan en U est bordé de fossés couronnés de balustrades traversées par des ponts de pierre. Deux pavillons symétriques, rectangulaires, encadraient une clôture au centre de laquelle se trouvent encore les traces du portail et d'une porte piétonnière. Un incendie en 1985 a partiellement détruit l'aile ouest et le pavillon sud-ouest.
