To make a day of it

Château Freihof stands in Neuwiller-lès-Saverne (Bas-Rhin), in the Grand Est region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The Freihof manor, in Neuwiller-lès-Saverne, stands on the site of a medieval castle of which only a tall square sandstone tower remains, once part of the town's fortified wall. The present manor house dates from the 18th century, built after the decayed medieval buildings were torn down. Visitors mainly come for this fortified tower, the most visible trace of a vanished stronghold, and for the remnants of its defensive system, including a ditch and outer wall.
