Château du Haut-Ribeaupierre stands in Ribeauvillé (Haut-Rhin), in the Grand Est region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Perched at 642 meters above Ribeauvillé, the Haut-Ribeaupierre castle is the highest of the three castles overlooking the town, alongside Girsberg and Saint-Ulrich. Now a ruin overgrown with vegetation, it was the oldest stronghold of the Ribeaupierre lordship, first recorded in 1084. Its keep once held two notable prisoners, including an English knight kept there for several years in the 14th century.
