What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le Coudray-Herpin relevait de la baronnie de Graçay. Il fut assiégé par les Anglais au 15e siècle, et les Ligueurs y passèrent en 1590. Le château comprend deux édifices : un manoir du 15e siècle remanié au 17e, avec une tour carrée d'entrée et une tour semi-circulaire ; un édifice du 15e siècle avec entrée principale et galerie reposant sur cinq et trois piliers, de part et d'autre de l'entrée. Les arcades sont légèrement surbaissées sur piliers polygonaux surmontés de petits chapiteaux.
