What the French Ministry of Culture records

Cette tour est le seul reste de l'ancien château du 12e siècle, et servait de porte d'entrée à la forteresse. Le plan en est carré, sauf une tourelle d'escalier sur la façade sud. La porte est conservée, avec sa voûte et l'emplacement des herses et du pont levis. Au-dessus se trouvent deux salles avec trois cheminées. La charpente et la toiture datent du 18e siècle. Des quatre tours dont le château était flanqué, aucune ne subsiste dans son entier. Le pont-levis a disparu vers 1810. Ce donjon est un exemple bien conservé d'architecture militaire.
