The Château du Bruget stands in Jaujac, in the Ardèche region, built around a 14th century spiral staircase set upon older remains. The rectangular building, flanked by two towers to the north and a round tower to the south, passed through the hands of several noble families before being used as a farm and later rescued from ruin. Inside visitors can see a fireplace reassembled during restoration work in the 1930s, with finely carved columns, and a stone staircase leading to a vaulted ceiling known as sarrasine.
