Perched on a limestone cliff above the Ardèche river and overlooking the village of Vogüé, this fortified castle founded in the 12th century has passed through phases as both a medieval stronghold and a Renaissance residence. Still owned by the de Vogüé family, it features a large quadrangular building flanked by four round towers, a hanging garden laid out over the former moat, and a chapel with stained glass windows created by Alfred Manessier. Visitors can also see the Estates of Vivarais hall and temporary exhibitions devoted to the visual arts.
