To make a day of it

Château du Boy stands in Lanuéjols (Lozère), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 14th century, 15th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Château du Boy, in Lanuéjols in the Lozère department, stands on the site of a former Roman outpost and was built in the 14th century by the du Tournel family. Its quadrangular layout surrounds a 15th century inner courtyard lined with a ground floor cloister and galleries on each level, one of them pierced with Renaissance windows. The building went through the Wars of Religion, a 17th century remodelling that filled in the moat and removed the drawbridge, and later housed a religious community before taking on the medical use it still has today.
