Le château du Boscq appartient à la série des grandes malouinières prestigieuses construites par les Magon. Il fut construit en 1717 par l'armateur Pierre le Fer de la Saudre et son épouse, veuve d'un Magon de la Chipaudière. L'architecture du logis est représentative de cette série de malouinières de grande ampleur, qui tendent à devenir des châteaux, avec des élévations marquées par le rythme des bossages à pilastres et des bandeaux, mais également ponctuées de quelques éléments sculptés ; le plan est plus complexe que dans les malouinières plus modestes, avec une organisation de la circulation selon deux pôles (espace noble et services). La composition de l'ensemble en est également représentative : le logis s'inscrit dans un espace soigneusement agencé et pensé pour une intégration au site, comprenant l'ancien manoir transformé en communs, la chapelle (datée 1737) , et une perspective dans l'axe de la Rance, avec un tapis vert, le perron orné de bustes de marbre blanc d'Italie, et un jardin autrefois compartimenté. Bustes en marbre représentant les quatre saisons (attribués à Coustou).
