Straddling the villages of Pleugueneuc and Plesder in Ille-et-Vilaine, the Château de la Motte Beaumanoir traces its origins to the 15th century, when the Boutier family built an early gatehouse residence. Later held by the Gruel and Beaumanoir families, the estate owes much of its present form to the Lorgeril family, who owned it for two centuries and enlarged it repeatedly, particularly in the early 19th century under Louis de Lorgeril. The property also includes farm buildings such as stables and a sheepfold, reflecting its long agricultural role.
