To make a day of it
Château du Barrioz stands in Argonay (Haute-Savoie), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. No visits are on record for this building.
Standing alone amid the fields west of Argonay, the château du Barrioz is a former fortified house believed to have been built by Pierre de Monthouz before 1379. Its square shape topped by a broad four-sided roof, along with the two round towers flanking the entrance gate, make it a typical example of this style of defensive architecture in Haute-Savoie. Part of the old surrounding wall still remains, along with the courtyard bordered by the manor house on one side and a farm building on the other.
