Standing on a promontory above the Luy valley, a few kilometres from Dax, this castle served as the summer residence of the bishops of Dax from the 14th century onward. Visitors come for the medieval tower topped with a dovecote, the central courtyard and the spiral staircase leading to the upper floor, as well as for the site itself, occupied since prehistoric times. The complex went through several building phases, from the fortified tower of 1304 to the north wing added in 1774.
