Le château est une construction du 15ème siècle, agrandi au 18ème siècle dans un esprit néo-gothique. Des jardins ont été aménagés entre 1922 et 1925. Le corps principal a été rechemisé au milieu du 19ème siècle, tout en conservant certains éléments anciens (vestibule avec son voûtement, escalier à vis maintenu dans sa cage du 15ème siècle), ainsi que l'orangerie du 18ème siècle formant une aile. De 1850 à 1860, le domaine se transforme en parc agricole par la construction d'un ensemble cohérents de bâtiments : chapelle néo-gothique, écuries, grange avec piliers, petit pigeonnier, potager, serre, maison de gardien avec four, ferme...Le château du Pin constitue l'un des exemples précoces du « mouvement archéologique » et constitue un marqueur paysager s'inscrivant dans un site harmonieux.
