To make a day of it

Château d'Estrac stands in Hastingues (Landes), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The château d'Estrac stands at the northern corner of the village square in Hastingues, on a spur overlooking the valley where the Gaves rivers meet, facing Orthevielle and Peyrehorade. The present building, in an 18th-century style, replaced a medieval castle destroyed several times over the centuries, and it combines a main block, a wing added in the early 19th century, and a terraced garden looking out over the river landscape. The site is best appreciated from the outside, while walking through the bastide and the wooded slopes running down to the water.
