Clément Marot fut quelquefois l'hôte de René Lemaire qui posséda le château vers 1540. Le maréchal Ney y logea de 1808 à 1815. L'édifice du 18e siècle fut construit sur l'emplacement d'un ancien manoir. Il présente un corps de logis d'un étage plus combles à la Mansard sur rez-de-chaussée. Il est flanqué de deux pavillons formant saillie en avant et en arrière. Quatre tourelles rondes, vestiges d'un ancien manoir, sont situées aux quatre angles. A côté du château se trouvent de vastes communs de la même époque, un corps de ferme et un potager. L'ordonnance du parc a été réalisée d'après les dessins de Bertaus.
