Le château de Villon-les-Buissons, exploitation agricole de la plaine de Caen, est une propriété du XVIII e siècle fortement reconstruite au XX e siècle. La construction du corps de logis principal par Charles Gervaise est datée des années 1730. La maîtrise d'œuvre est attribuée à Jacques-Francois Blondel, architecte du château de Vendeuvre. Le domaine est propriété de la famille Le Marinier depuis 1912. D'importants travaux de modernisation (électricité, chauffage) et de décoration (lambris, peintures) remontent à ce début du XX e siècle. De 1939 à 1944, la propriété est réquisitionnée. À la Libération, le régiment Highland Light Infantry of Canada y installe son quartier général. Le cadastre de 1811 notamment témoigne de l'ampleur des destructions et des remaniements (communs détruits, toiture du logis déposée, meubles transportés à la Kommandantur). Une partie du domaine est reconstruite grâce aux dommages de guerre (communs ouest, couvertures, fenêtres).
