Château de Vicq stands in Vicq-sur-Breuilh (Haute-Vienne), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: first half of the 16th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
Vicq Castle is a lordly residence built between 1514 and 1542, exemplifying First Renaissance architecture in the Limousin region. Arranged around a closed courtyard, it retains its original carved elements: ground-floor gallery with corbels, 16th-century windows, stone fireplaces and a spiral staircase. Its round towers, which were truncated during the Revolution, and its square stair tower preserve their Renaissance facade ornamentation. The site is surrounded by ditches that still mark the line of the former moat.
