The château de Montintin stands in Château-Chervix, south of Limoges, and carries a history that sets it apart. Between 1940 and 1944 the house sheltered nearly three hundred Jewish children under the care of the Œuvre de secours aux enfants, before being shut down abruptly as persecution intensified. Briefly reopened after the war to prepare young refugees for departure to Mandatory Palestine, the estate later passed into private hands, with its outbuildings converted into holiday cottages. The main house remains private property.
