Il existait un château en 1573, incendié pendant les guerres de Religion puis restauré. Le nouveau château est bâti vers 1785. L'édifice est traditionnellement attribué à l'architecte Brousseau. Il présente un plan en U avec un corps de logis principal rectangulaire et deux ailes en retour d'équerre. Sur un étage en soubassement s'élèvent un rez-de-chaussée surélevé, un étage et le comble. Les façades sont rigoureusement ordonnancées mais plusieurs éléments évitent la monotonie. La façade ouest sur cour présente un avant-corps central et un escalier à double révolution. La façade Est arrière a, de part et d'autre, deux légers décrochements. A l'intérieur, trois pièces sont ornées d'un décor caractéristique de la fin du règne de Louis XVI. Au rez-de-chaussée, le grand salon d'apparat a ses murs ornés de boiseries moulurées et un parquet en marqueterie. Au premier étage, la chambre a tous ses murs ornés de boiseries fin 18e. Les dessus de portes sont ornés d'une guirlande surmontée d'un noeud. La chambre bleue a une alcôve soulignée de boiseries ornées.
