The château de Tresneau once stood at Thimert-Gâtelles, in the Eure-et-Loir department, along the old road linking Paris to Le Mans. First recorded as a manor in the 16th century and later rebuilt as a château, it passed through a series of notable owners before being sold as national property during the French Revolution and demolished in the early 19th century.
