Château de Suscinio stands in Sarzeau (Morbihan), in the Bretagne region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 13th century, second half of the 14th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

What the French Ministry of Culture records

Une première mention d'un manoir de chasse apparaît en 1218 : le château est situé en lisière d'une vaste forêt (deux cerfs en bas-relief sont sculptés au-dessus de l'entrée). Pendant la seconde moitié du 14e siècle, le manoir est transformé en forteresse avec pont-levis encadré de deux tours, postes de guet avec meurtrières, remparts munis de mâchicoulis, douves, etc. Au 16e siècle, le château est confisqué par le roi de France. Après la Révolution, il est exploité en carrière et tombe en ruine. En 1965, il devient propriété du département qui y mène d'importantes campagnes de restaurations. Lors de fouilles en 1975 ont été mis au jour des fragments d'un pavement du 14e siècle, constitué de carreaux de faïence peints.
