Perched on a rocky spur in the Corbières hills, near Fontfroide Abbey, the ruins of the Saint-Martin de Toques castle overlook the town of Bizanet. First recorded in 978 and linked to the viscounts of Narbonne, the site retains crenellated walls following the natural rock, a Romanesque chapel that formed part of the defences, and two later circular towers. A polygonal corner tower, added still later, completes this medieval fortified complex.
