Château d'Agel stands in Agel (Hérault), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: fourth quarter of the 16th century, first quarter of the 17th century, 18th century, 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château, construit à la fin du 16e et au début du 17e siècle, est un édifice sur plan massé, flanqué de tours aux angles. La tour sud-est, de plan octogonal, correspond à l'ancien donjon et renferme un escalier en vis. Elle s'ouvre par une porte surmontée d'une corniche à larmier sur rang d'oves et encadrée de pilastres cannelés d'inspiration ionique. Au 19e siècle, certaines parties du château ont été remaniées (modification de la façade sur le parc, ordonnance des baies, dissimulation de certains plafonds à la française). Sur la façade postérieure, à l'ouest, apparaissent quelques éléments de l'ordonnance du début 17e et un ensemble de baies géminées à frontons rompus, apparemment plus tardives. L'édifice conserve encore quelques éléments défensifs (crénelage, bouche à feu, archères). Un mur d'enceinte, en partie crénelé et flanqué de tours, clôture l'ensemble.
