Château de Beaufort stands in Beaufort (Hérault), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century, 17th century, 18th century, 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Located in Beaufort, in the Hérault department, this 16th century château is arranged in three wings forming a U around a south facing terrace. The lordship of Beaufort dates back to the 11th century, though its holders were stripped of their lands after the Albigensian Crusade. The southwest wing, added in the 18th century, partly absorbed one of the original round towers. Inside, notable features include a straight flight staircase, ceilings painted around the Napoleonic era, and a circular chapel set within a tower, its walls carrying a later painted decoration.
