To make a day of it
Château de Montbrun stands in Montbrun-des-Corbières (Aude), in the Occitanie region of France. No visits are on record for this building.
On a hilltop above the village of Montbrun-des-Corbières, in the Aude department, the remains of a medieval fortified castle mark a site occupied since the 11th century. Torn down after 1824 by its owner, who reused the stones, the site now consists of little more than scattered wall fragments and the shape of an old feudal mound. Visitors come mainly for the view and to picture, through the ruins and the surviving rounded medieval gateway in the village walls, the former stronghold of the lords of Montbrun.
